MIT Scientist Exposes Consequence of Monsanto’s Glyphosate & Aluminum Cocktail

Patriot Rising

“Glyphosate produces a leaky gut, and that’s going to help the aluminum get in…”

By 2025, half the kids born in the U.S. will be diagnosed with autism, according to Dr. Stephanie Seneff, Senior Research Scientist at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. She, like many others says autism isn’t just genetic – it is almost surely due to environmental factors. Just a couple of those factors are Monsanto’s RoundUp (glyphosate) and heavy exposure to a cocktail of heavy metals, including aluminum.

Dr. Seneff isn’t respected by the ivory towers of the pharmaceutical medicine paradigm or industrial agriculture, but she has something to say about autism. She is a computer scientist who transitioned into biology and toxicology, so people like to attack her credentials, but what Dr. Seneff has to say is key, and many other mainstream researchers have been negligent in reporting these findings.

She has been studying autism for over 7 years, along with the environmental factors that lead to the disease. Decreased exposure to sunlight, poor diet, vaccines (specifically aluminum and mercury), as well as glyphosate toxins from RoundUp are causing skyrocketing rates of autism. She explains this in a two-hour presentation given recently at Autism One.

Aluminum and Glyphosate

Aluminum and glyphosate specifically interrupt the workings of the pineal gland (melatonin sulfate), leading to high rates of autism. She outlines this fact in pinpointing detail in her research, which can be found here.

Furthermore, glyphosate chelates manganese. Dr. Seneff believes that just the absence of appropriate amounts of manganese can help to cause autism. Glyphosate also promotes aluminum uptake into our tissues, and interrupts an important path for amino acid uptake called the shikimate pathway, into our guts.

“The way glyphosate works is that it interrupts the shikimate pathway, a metabolic function in plants that allows them to create essential amino acids. When this path is interrupted, the plants die. Human cells don’t have a shikimate pathway so scientists and researchers believed that exposure to glyphosate would be harmless.”

In fact, industrial claims don’t match the science on RoundUp. It is often used because it is considered one of the ‘safest’ of all herbicides. This claim is touted by Monsanto and other chemical pushers, but it turns out that RoundUp is one of the least safe herbicides on the market.

Incidentally, scientists were mistaken about a human shikimate pathway, and we rely upon it for many important functions in our body, including ridding our body of poisons like RoundUp as well as other herbicides and pesticides.

“The problem is that bacteria DO have a shikimate pathway and we have millions of good bacteria in our guts – our ‘gut flora.’ These bacteria are essential to our health. Our gut isn’t just responsible for digestion, but also for our immune system. When glyphosate gets in our systems, it wrecks our gut and as a result our immune system.”

She says:

“The effects are insidious. You won’t notice when you eat a food that contains glyphosate, but over time you will enter an old-age state before you should.”

It’s Time for Chemical Reform

Though Dr. Seneff’s findings are in the research stages, there are plenty of families that have autistic children who have chosen to drastically change their children’s diets, eliminating all pesticides, herbicides and as many neurotoxins as possible while eating organic food. They often experience some incredible results, seeing improvement in their children’s speech patterns, cognitive abilities, and social skills in weeks, not years. This amounts to circumstantial evidence, but it supports Dr. Seneff’s claims.

The rate at which diseases like autism (along with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and others) are growing would be unheard of just 50 years ago. You can’t simply discount this phenomenon as the result of ‘better screening and diagnosis.’ In the past 5 years alone, autism rates have increased from 1/150 to 1/50. This is an environmental epidemic; it isn’t genetic.

When you factor in the levels of glyphosate being found in women’s breast milk is ten times that which is allowed in European drinking water, and people in 18 different countries were found to have glyphosate in their blood, you have to question the rise in autism from another perspective, aside from the genetic one, and connect the dots. This leads to glyphosate as a synergistic compound that works with other suggested autism causes – like vaccines (controversial, I know).

“Ordinarily the body is quite good about keeping aluminum out. The gut will absorb very little of what’s in the diet…assuming you have a healthy gut. Glyphosate produces a leaky gut, and that’s going to help the aluminum get in. What I believe now is that the aluminum in the vaccine is far more toxic as a consequence of the glyphosate that’s also in the blood. The two of them are synergistic, because the glyphosate forms a cage around the aluminum and keeps it from getting expelled. The aluminum ends up accumulating, getting trapped with the glyphosate, and then the aluminum ends up in the pineal gland, and messes up sleep, and causes a whole cascade of problems in the brain. The glyphosate and aluminum are working together to be much more toxic than they would be, acting alone.”

RoundUp chemicals are the most used chemicals in numerous lived-in cities such as New York City, not just on American farms. In just ten years, the use of RoundUp chemicals on American farms grew more than 89%. More than 80000 tonnes are currently used on GMO corn, soy and other crops. We are being poisoned by the truckload. This isn’t Big Ag against the masses anymore, it looks like pure genocide.

You can watch Dr. Seneff’s speech at Autism One, here.

Additionally, all of Dr. Seneff’s papers can be studied to corroborate her assertions that glyphosate and aluminum, among other environmental toxins, are synergistically causing autism:

New Séralini study shows Roundup damages sperm

Activist Post

A new study in rats found that Roundup altered testicular function after only 8 days of exposure at a concentration of only 0.5%, similar to levels found in water after agricultural spraying, writes Claire Robinson, Managing Editor of GMO Seralini.

The study found no difference in sperm concentration, viability and mobility, but there was an increase in abnormal sperm formation measured 2, 3, and 4 months after this short exposure.

The study, the first to measure the delayed effects of exposure to Roundup on sperm in mammals from a short exposure, was conducted by a team including Prof Gilles-Eric Séralini at the University of Caen, France.

Roundup was found to change gene expression in sperm cells, which could alter the balance of the sex hormones androgen and estrogen. A negative impact on sperm quality was confirmed, raising questions about impairedsperm efficiency. The authors suggested that repeated exposures to Roundup at doses lower than those used in agriculture could damage mammalian reproduction over the long term.

The study’s findings should raise alarm in farm workers, as well as people who spray Roundup for municipal authorities and even home gardeners. People exposed to lower doses repeated over the long term, including consumers who eat food produced with Roundup and people who happen to be exposed to others’ spraying activities, should also be concerned.

Those who want to conceive a child should take special measures to minimise their exposure, including eating organic food and lobbying for a ban on Roundup spraying in their neighbourhoods.

Abstract

Roundup is the major pesticide used in agriculture worldwide; it is a glyphosate-based herbicide. Its molecular effects are studied following an acute exposure (0.5%) of fifteen 60-day-old male rats during an 8-day period. Endocrine (aromatase, estrogen and androgen receptors, Gper1 in testicular and sperm mRNAs) and testicular functions (organ weights, sperm parameters and expression of the blood–testis barrier markers) were monitored at days 68, 87, and 122 after treatment, spermiogenesis and spermatogenesis. The major disruption is an increase of aromatase mRNA levels at least by 50% in treated rats at all times, as well as the aromatase protein. We have also shown a similar increase of Gper1 expression at day 122 and a light modification of BTB markers. A rise of abnormal sperm morphology and a decrease of the expression of protamine 1 and histone 1 testicular in epididymal sperm are observed despite a normal sperm concentration and motility.

Highlights

• We investigated the effects of a glyphosate-based herbicide after an 8-day exposure of adult rats.
• We have shown a significant and differential expression of aromatase in testis.
• We have observed a diminution of mRNA expression of nuclear markers in spermatozoa.
• These results suggest changes in androgen/estrogen balance and in spermnuclear quality.
• The repetition of exposures of this herbicide could alter the mammalian reproduction.

An acute exposure to glyphosate-based herbicide alters aromatase levels in testis and sperm nuclear quality.

American Extermination: Death for Sale in Every Aisle

The Daily Sheeple
by Kimberly Paxton

Your local grocery store is serving up death in every aisle. Even you shop carefully, you run the risk of being like a bug to be exterminated, unknowingly bringing home glossy, sweet-smelling poison to the rest of your colony.

GMOs masquerading as healthy fruits and vegetables, produce and meat tainted with salmonella due to unsafe handling, and processed foods laced with neurotoxins lurk on every aisle. Food “safety” is for sale and it really doesn’t matter, as long as the big companies continue to turn a profit.

In a special report, Bloomberg Markets broke the story last week about paid food safety auditors that are basically paid to look the other way when inspecting food processing facilities. Every day, people are dying from unsafe practices while auditors are awarding gold stars to the people who are paying them.

The food industry hires for-profit inspection companies — known as third-party auditors — who aren’t required by law to meet any federal standards and have no government supervision. Some of these monitors choose to follow guidelines from trade groups that include ConAgra Foods Inc. (CAG), Kraft Foods Inc. and Wal-Mart.

The private inspectors that companies select often check only those areas their clients ask them to review. That means they can miss deadly pathogens lurking in places they never examined.

According to the Bloomberg article, the FDA, who is charged with the safety of our food supply, inspects only 6% of the food production facilities in the country every year. According to the CDC, over 3000 people per year die because of unsafe food production.

The FDA, it seems, is more interested in harassing providers of raw milk, family farms and health food stores. Over the past few years outbreaks of deadly illnesses like salmonella and listeria have affected peanut butter, cantaloupe, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce and carrots, all items a healthy eater would be happy to place into his or her shopping cart.

We must all keep in mind the other important function of the FDA: that is aiding their friends at Monsanto. The grocery store roulette game doesn’t end with poor food-handling practices. You know those gorgeous tomatoes that are the reddest red you’ve ever seen or the strawberries that are the size of your fist? Two words: Science Project. And guess who the guinea pigs are?

GMO foods were introduced to the North American food supply in 1994, with the Flavr Savr tomato. No labeling was done, no research on the long-term effects of this genetically spliced lab creation on the human body was performed – the tomato just appeared in produce sections all across America. The tomato was soon followed by such an abundance of genetic modification that by 2006 89 % of the planted area of soybeans, 83 % of cotton, and 61 % maize were genetically modified varieties.

How did Monsanto, the main creator of genetically modified “foods”, get past the FDA, that agency of protection of the health of the American people? It’s easy when you can load the jury with your own people. Here are just a few connections between Monsanto and the federal government:

Michael Taylor: VP of Monsanto –> Deputy Commissioner of the FDA
Roger Beachy: Director of the Danforth Plant Science Center (paid for by Monsanto) –> director of the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture
Elena Kagan: Obama Solicitor General (when she famously took Monsanto’s side against organic farmers in the Roundup Ready Alfalfa case) –>US Supreme Court justice.
Clarence Thomas: General Counsel for Monsanto –>US Supreme Court justice.
Margaret Miller: Monsanto supervisor –> Deputy Director of Human Food Safety
Donald Rumsfield: Board of Directors for Monsanto’s Searle Pharmaceuticals –> US Secretary of Defense
Ann Veneman: Monsanto Board of Directors –> US Secretary of Agriculture
Linda Fisher: Assistant Administrator at the EPA –>VP of MonsantoàDeputy Administrator of the EPA
Dr. Michael A.Friedman: Deputy Commissioner of the FDA –>Senior VP of Monsanto

Just so we’re clear, the label “FDA Approved” now means “The company that produced this product has enough money and clout to allow it to be sold.”

An article by Paul Adams, published by Activist Post, discusses the only long-term study on the effects of GMO, which was performed in France. The study confirmed many disturbing conclusions:

The recent and long-term French study from the University of Caen found that eating genetically modified corn and consuming trace levels of Monsanto’s Roundup chemical fertilizer caused rats to develop horrifying tumors, widespread organ damage, and premature death. This study has been deemed “the most thorough research ever published into the health effects of GM food crops and the herbicide Roundup on rats.”

The study found:

Up to 50% of males and 70% of females suffered premature death.

Rats that drank trace amounts of Roundup (at levels legally allowed in the water supply) had a 200% to 300% increase in large tumors.

Rats fed GM corn and traces of Roundup suffered severe organ damage including liver damage and kidney damage.

The study fed these rats NK603, the Monsanto variety of GM corn that’s grown across North America and widely fed to animals and humans. This is the same corn that’s in your corn-based breakfast cereal, corn tortillas and corn snack chips.

The study caused Russia to ban imports of U.S. GM corn due to the cancer risk. France and most of Europe have effectively banned feeding GM crops to humans and Monsanto was found guilty of ‘chemical poisoning’ earlier this year.

Now, if you manage to somehow avoid the consumption of improperly handled food and GMOs, the next hurdle to avoid is the addition of deadly neurotoxins, which are also approved by the FDA, classified “Generally Recognized as Safe.”

According to Dr. Russell Blaylock, who has dedicated his career to researching these “excitotoxins”: Excitotoxins are food additives that can stimulate nerve cells in the brain to death. The most common excitotoxins in the diet are MSG and aspartame. MSG, in particular, is present in almost all processed foods, but is often called by different names. It can even be in foods labelled ‘No MSG’

Artificial sweeteners such as aspartame and nutrasweet, as well as flavor additives like MSG (and its many aliases) have been proven to cause brain cell death and 230 other side effects, yet the FDA still classifies these products as “safe” for our consumption.

How can we run the grocery store gauntlet and feed our families safe food?

1.) Garden: If possible, produce some of your own food.

2.) Buy organic: organic foods are not genetically modified, however they could have still been handled unsafely.

3.) Be careful of the origin of the foods you buy: some countries do not have the same levels of food safety. Although the US process is lacking, it isn’t as bad as is described in some farms in South and Central America, where workers do not have access to running water.

4.) Avoid processed foods – purchase ingredients instead of items that are “heat and eat”. If you must purchase processed foods, read the label carefully and avoid items with unpronounceable names in the list.

5.) Carefully wash and prepare produce. Some food prep guidelines from Eat Safe:

Cantaloupes/melons: scrub the skins with water and a brush before you cut them. (If you do not, cutting them could transfer pathogens from the rind to the flesh).

Berries, lettuce, and other non scrubbable fruits and vegetables: wash them with fast running water. The friction of running water helps remove bacteria. That’s better than soaking.
Wash fruit even if you plan to peel it. If there are microbes on the peel, they can contaminate the rest of the fruit when you peel it.

Eat only cooked sprouts

We can vote with our wallets by refusing to put our health at risk to make the wealthy even richer.

Grocery shop as though your life depends on it – because it does.

WEED KILLER CAN CHANGE THE SHAPES OF ANIMALS

Science Blog, Apr. 4, 2012

The world’s most popular weed killer, Roundup®, can cause amphibians to change shape, according to research published today in Ecological Applications.
Rick Relyea, University of Pittsburgh professor of biological sciences in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and director of Pitt’s Pymatuning Laboratory of Ecology, demonstrated that sublethal and environmentally relevant concentrations of Roundup® caused two species of amphibians to alter their morphology. According to Relyea, this is the first study to show that a pesticide can induce morphological changes in a vertebrate animal.
Relyea set up large outdoor water tanks that contained many of the components of natural wetlands. Some tanks contained caged predators, which emit chemicals that naturally induce changes in tadpole morphology (such as larger tails to better escape predators). After adding tadpoles to each tank, he exposed them to a range of Roundup® concentrations. After 3 weeks, the tadpoles were removed from the tanks.
“It was not surprising to see that the smell of predators in the water induced larger tadpole tails,” says Relyea. “That is a normal, adaptive response. What shocked us was that the Roundup® induced the same changes. Moreover, the combination of predators and Roundup® caused the tail changes to be twice as large.” Because tadpoles alter their body shape to match their environment, having a body shape that does not fit the environment can put the animals at a distinct disadvantage.
Predators cause tadpoles to change shape by altering the stress hormones of tadpoles, says Relyea. The similar shape changes when exposed to Roundup® suggest that Roundup® may interfere with the hormones of tadpoles and potentially many other animals.
“This discovery highlights the fact that pesticides, which are important for crop production and human health, can have unintended consequences for species that are not the pesticide’s target,” says Relyea. “Herbicides are not designed to affect animals, but we are learning that they can have a wide range of surprising effects by altering how hormones work in the bodies of animals. This is important because amphibians not only serve as a barometer of the ecosystem’s health, but also as an indicator of potential dangers to other species in the food chain, including humans.”
For two decades, Relyea has studied community ecology, evolution, disease ecology, and ecotoxicology. He has authored more than 80 scientific articles and book chapters and has presented research seminars around the world. For more information about his laboratory, visit www.pitt.edu/~relyea/.

Monsanto’s Roundup is Killing Human Kidney Cells

Natural Society
Anthony Guddiardi

Monsanto’s ‘biopesticide’ known as Bt is not only developing mutated insects and requiring excessive pesticide use, but new findings show that it is also killing human kidney cells — even in low doses. Amazingly, Monsanto’s superweed-breeding Roundup also has the same effect. Scientists have demonstrated in new research that the Bt pesticide, in addition to Monsanto’s best-selling herbicide Roundup, exhibit direct toxicity to human cells. The findings add to the long list of hazardous effects presented by Monsanto’s genetically modified creations.

These dangerous Bt crops currently engulf 39% of globally cultivated GMO crops, and Monsanto does not seem to be slowing down on their campaign to expand usage. Led by Gilles-Eric Séralini, a French scientist from the University of Caen, Séralini and his team are no strangers to the toxic effects of both Bt and glyphosate — the main component used in Roundup. Previously, Séralini and a group of other scientists found that Roundup is linked to infertility, killing testicular cells in rats. The report stated that within 1 to 48 hours of exposure, testicular cells of the mature rats were either damaged or killed.

The Wal-Marts of Quasi-Organic Food

Farm Wars, Sept. 29, 2011

Widespread Glyphosate Pollution

Food tasting a little on the “chemical” side lately? Water smelling and tasting a little off?

Glyphosate, one of the most heavily used weed-killers in the world, has been found in air, rain and rivers in two states examined by government scientists.” (EWG)

And as the second “green revolution” of Monsanto’s GMO crops and subsequent sales of Roundup pesticides for use with those crops increases exponentially, so does the water pollution. The main ingredient in Roundup is glyphosate. But what most don’t know is that for its proprietary pesticide mixes, surfactants are used. Surfactants ride in on the glyphosate as inerts, with the glyphosate acting as a sort of Trojan Horse. No one has to know they are there, and they can be deadly.

The most widely used type of surfactants in glyphosate formulations are known as ethylated amines. POEA (polyoxy-ethyleneamine) has been frequently mentioned as a surfactant, but in fact it refers to a group of ethylated amine products used in glyphosate formulations. Members of this group of surfactants are significantly more toxic than glyphosate. They are serious irritants of eyes, the respiratory tract and skin, and have been found to contain dioxane (not dioxin) contaminants which are suspected of being carcinogenic.(Pan-UK)
